エキマニ換装に伴ってエアフィルターの清掃もしました。
取り外し直後のK&Nのエアフィルター
以前、兄の超7のむき出しエアクリーナーを清掃したことがありましたが、あれよか全然きれいですな。
清掃に使うのはK&Nエアフィルターメンテナンスキット(楽天)。
ちなみにこのメンテナンスキット、実は型番が2種類あるようで、上記の楽天リンクである「99-5000」と「99-5050」があるようです。
どちらも専用クリーナーと専用オイルのセットなのですが、「99-5000」はオイルがスプレー缶で簡単に塗布できるのですが、「99-5050」の方はオイルがスプレー缶ではないようです。
清掃自体はまずは簡単に汚れを落とし(枯れ葉の切れ端や小石等が付着してることが多いです。)専用クリーナーをフィルターに吹き付け時間を置いた後、フィルター搭載時の内側(スロットルに近い方)から洗い流します。
内側からというのは基本的に外側から汚れてくるのでホコリを内側のコットンに浸透させないようにということだと思います。
一回ではあまりキレイにならないので2回程やって水分を取り除くとこんな感じ。
塗布されていたオイルもそれなりに落ちて白いコットンの色が出てきました。
ここでもまだ懲りずにメッシュに挟まっているゴミがある場合があるので取り除きます。
で、十分換装させた後、付属のオイルをムラなく塗布します。
オイル自体が赤いのでフィルターがまんべんなく赤くなったら終了。
まぁここら辺は適当です。
装着時にインダクションボックス自体にゴミが入ってる場合があるので、抜け目なく取り除く。

バイクだと、最後のオイルを付けすぎて空気が入らなくなってしまって、調子が悪いって駆け込んでくる人いました。開けると、ぎとぎと！みたいな。うふふ。

なんか、洗ってるのか目詰まりしてるのか分からんねw。
付けすぎてオイル成分がインテークまで行ったらどうなるんだろ？ガソリン添加剤みたいな効果あったりして。

ほんと、メンテしてんだか壊してんだかわからんですよね。オイル、点火剤になったり（笑）
ラムエアーでメンテしなさ過ぎてフィルターがカラカラになって燃えたって話も聞いたことあります、、、。どんだけ放置プレイ。
